Kenlyn is over and above in her interest and dedication to animals. She has had this passion since I first met her in Claremont in 2007. She probably had it even before then. Our club juniors are turning out to be some of our best contributors to the news and articles we publish. I'm all for encouraging them when ever we can. They are the future-----

A Teen Making a Difference For Throw Away Pets

Kenlyn's deep love of animals inspired her to look for an opportunity to help discarded and abandon pets. After contacting several humane societies where she hoped she could volunteer and being refused because she is not yet 18 years old, Kenlyn and her mom, Susan Mirbach, were introduced to the Friends of Silicon Valley Animal Control Authority (SVACA), a support organization for a local animal shelter.

Kenyln and her friends continue to work with Rescue dogs and are now fostering dog within their home. Skoen makes a wonderful foster brother.  Read about Kenlyn's work with Furry Friends Rescue

Hobbes: The People Dog

It was 9:00 PM, the night after Halloween. Almost all the kids in the neighborhood stood there in the dark, gasping with anticipation every time a car turned the corner onto our street. I couldn’t wait until one of those cars was my mom’s, bringing home our adorable little puppy, named Hobbes.

My life with Danish/Swedish Farmdogs

Almost five years ago Greta a farm dog was born and just a few months later came to live with a family that still loves her to this day. The family who received Greta was my family. I am 11 years old living in the mountains of Colorado with my two dogs. When we wanted a dog it had been six years since our German Shepherd mix passed away. My dad is actually allergic to dogs but still loves them. So we searched for a dog that was good with children (my sister being four and me being seven) and also wouldn’t bother my dad’s allergies to much.

Jera

A Dedicated Junior Farmdog Trainer

Jera has been very dedicated to the training of Daphne. Even before he got Daphne, Jera and his Mother read books together about dog training.

When Jera got Daphne, he had already been to the dog training center, where he took Daphne. Jera did a really good job, and Daphne graduated her puppy class with honors. After the puppy classes were over, the two of them completed yet another set of more advanced classes, bringing them to intermediate obedience level.

and her story about Lexie  

After several years of begging, I finally convinced my parents that I would take care of a dog if they would let me get one.  That began our family’s search for the perfect dog. My mom took a quiz on the internet which led us to a Danish Swedish Farmdog link. We investigated further and  discovered that these dogs seemed to be terrific! Not only were they intelligent and loving, they were small and didn't shed much. Amazingly, although they were a
rare breed, there were Farmdogs within an hour’s drive so we decided to go and see a few Farmdogs in person.  

We went to watch a flyball tournament where we met Flora, Hannah and Solo. We were immediately taken with the breed. We were lucky enough to be referred to Kennel Pacific Rim and after an introduction we were placed on a waiting list for a puppy.
